A letter to Pixar

Dear Pixar,

Stop making me cry with your crazy-good movies.

The only plausible solution is for you all to stop making such fantastic movies, or lower the quality of any future movies. The fact you nearly made me cry in a theater filled with small children is unacceptable, especially when the movie being shown barely had any written dialogue.

Thanks,
Keaton

But seriously now.

Wall-E is brilliant. Go see it. I damn well nearly cried, but granted, I'm a little emotional lately. Though this certainly is a way to make me feel less confident in my maturity and emotional restraint, since the number of small children sitting in the audience didn't shed a single tear while I was wibbling and trying to hold back the urge to start bawling. I was half-expecting for the kid next to me to look at me and say, "You're weird, lady."

Eve is also the most adorable thing ever. Ignore the apple on her body.

Anthrocon '08 Report

Journal Entry: Tue Jul 1, 2008, 6:25 AM

Went to Anthrocon '08 on June 26th and returned home on the morning of the 29th. Simply said, I didn't wanna leave. :< I had so much fun, and the people were so amazingly nice. Definitely a fantastic experience. I loved it. Since everyone else is doing it, though, I figured I should type up an AC 08 report.

Thursday, the 26th:

Plane ride was utterly uneventful, aside from the fact I was a little grouchy from lack of sleep and a little wound up. Also very much in disbelief that I was actually there. Either way, when me and my mom got to the hotel, I probably would have stayed there all day because I was too scared to actually leave and meet everyone. I also thought nobody was really gathering yet. Haz was online at the time, so I talked to him, and he convinced me to go to the Zoo so I could see him.

Anyway, I had my cell phone with me, so I used it to find him. Granted, there was a moment of hilarity:
Me: Okay, I'm here at registration. Where are you?
Haz: Behind you.
Me: *can't hear him* Beside me?
Haz: BEHIND you.
Me: What? *turning in every direction*
Haz: *standing behind me, waves*
Me: ...oh. Behind me.

Anyway, everyone ("everyone" being ShadesFox, Tapewolf, Mischa, Reese Tora, Magalian, Sofox, The Lurking Dragon, Jouster, Kenji, Zedd, and a few others - there were a LOT of people so it's hard for me to remember all of 'em) showed up a moment later, and I started blushing and freaking out and generally being very shy, because I just had no idea what to do and I was speechless. However, I felt much better a few moments later because everyone really went out of their way to make me feel welcome and happy, and they definitely succeeded.

Tapewolf gave me a printed version of the comic adaptation of his DMFA story and two CDs he made; I helped ShadesFox with his Phoenix Wright game; we talked about some old video games - Tapewolf recalled one where you could plant tulips in a dead hamster's body and ShadesFox remembered one where everyone and everything was killable; and I talked about literature with a very literature-fluent Siberian Tiger who could quote some complicated excerpts off the top of his head, which I thought was incredible. Speaking of him, I still owe him a sketch, so I wish I had gotten his contact information prior to leaving.

Tapewolf gave me a Kinder Egg. I ate it. It was like the chocolate of the Gods.

Naomi (a family friend) and my Mom also talked a lot with some of the other people, and I had my first encounter with a fursuiter. He, um, was very affectionate. I ended up posing with him for a picture, I think. I don't remember very well. Any way, I ended up leaving rather happy.

Friday, the 27th:

Not much happened this day. I ended up missing the gathering at the dealer's room. :C My ankles were all swollen from running so fast and I think I lost five pounds from running back and forth from the hotel to the dealer's room. Mischa was there, though, and he showed me to Amber (EEEEEE!) and Tikiman's table. I also gave him a drawing I owed him but hell, he deserved better than the one I gave him, so I want to draw him a new one. I was able to order a commission from both of them. Later, I went to go visit Kenji, Jouster, and ShadesFox at the Zoo - they told me everyone else had gone drinking. They also told me Tapewolf was ten times more recognizable because he got a pair of head-wings.

Saturday, the 28th:

Now see, this day was AWESOME. Mom, Naomi, and I ended up running to the dealer's room at 10:30 and I met Jouster at the auctioning section. I saw an adorable lucky bat statue which I desperately wanted so I could possibly send it to Stygian, but I couldn't buy it because the auctions ended in Sunday morning, which was when I was leaving. I saw Tapewolf a moment later and he showed me where he got the head-wings, and he made a commission from the same vendor, who was very awesome and was wearing an Umbrella Corporation T-Shirt, which I wholeheartedly approve of. I got a pair of black bat wings which I wore on my head, but later in the day I had to take them off because they were kind of cutting off the circulation to my forehead. I'll wear them again next year.

Tapewolf informed me that he saw an adorable Keaton chibi at Amber's table, and I promptly freaked out. We merrily made our way to the table, and I... I met her. My Madonna.

The Keatsicle. Which is an adorable Keaton chibi ON A STICK. On a f***ing STICK. That is amazing and I love it and oh god I'm freaking out again because it was just adorable. ;-; That Keaton-on-a-stick won my heart and soul. Tikiman also gave me his commission a while later, which was bloody fantastic and made Keaton look so gorgeous. <3 I envy peoples' traditional coloring skills. :C

Anyway, I managed to do some sketching for people after we took pictures of the Keatsicle. I drew something for Jouster (I got a hug!), Tapewolf, Kenji, Haz, and Zedd. Haz commissioned something off of me and I'll be doing it once I've taken care of everyone else's on the list. Speaking of Zedd, I hope your knee is feeling better, dude.

Tapewolf gave me another Kinder Egg.

Oh, and humorously enough, I made Tapewolf's sketch look unintentionally naked. Fortunately the situation was easily rectified... with pants. Also, he thought that he saw a Latter-Day Saints stamp in my DeviantArt journal. Good god, dude. Where did you get that idea? My actual religion is so obscure they don't even have a stamp for it. XD

I saw some decorative sword scabbards too and wanted to buy one for Cogidubnus, but I wasn't sure if they would be the same size or structure for his sword, nor did I think they were really of a proper material. I actually really regret not getting him one now :C

Later, during the same night, I ran back into everyone at the Zoo after getting some sushi with ShadesFox and Haz. Haz and I got into a brief debate about the Powerpuff Girls, which I won. I also promised everyone that I'd draw a Phoenix Wright-style courtroom battle next Anthrocon, but I still need to work out who'd be the defense attorney. I'm almost positive Tapewolf would be the prosecutor, because he'd get to wear a cravat. Trust me, Tape, it's the best role there is because the prosecutor is frequently the most dignified character... unless it's that one balding guy, but nobody likes the balding guy and I'm not putting him in the drawing anyway.

Oh, and everyone learned that Edgeworth/Phoenix is my OTP. Laugh it up, guys. But deep down, you all know it's sexy.

Here's something hilarious. Kenji was really, really drunk. Really drunk. I can't stress how drunk he was. Amber was also a bit inebriated, and in-between their fermentation forays, Kenji fell off of his chair and landed in a drunken heap on the floor. For whatever reason, Amber decided to follow, slumping on top of Kenji in what I can only describe as a spectacular drunk-pile. It was beautiful. Truly something I will remember for the rest of my days. I suck at remembering shit, however, so the photos people took will probably help. Man, do I wish I had a camera so I could have captured it, but trust me when I say that it was really awesome.

I should have gotten some sketches from Amber, but I was really worried about inconveniencing her after already getting a Keatsicle. And YOU DO NOT INCONVENIENCE THE GODDESS OF CUTE.

So I'll probably get more sketches next time. Kenji was nice enough to contribute to my burgeoning sketchbook, however, by making a cute sketch of Keaton. I still have it secreted away in my portfolio. In return, Kenji, your secret is safe. >:3

Alondro showed up, so I said hello. I was really shy around him, though, so I'm worried I came across as a wee bit rude. I did ask him what emotional preferences Charline has, though, and he said she likes terror. Keaton likes suffering and schadenfreude btw, Alondro. >:3

Tapewolf gave me yet another Kinder Egg.

In the end, at around 12 AM, I needed to get going, so everyone escorted me downstairs. Mom was waiting for me, and we all had a big, awkward group hug. D'aaaaaaaw. <3

I miss you guuuuuuuuys ;-; I want it to be Anthrocon '09 again. COME FASTER, PLZ, 2009.

Sunday, the 29th:

Flew home at some ungodly hour. I slept on the flight, but I got stuck a few seats away from a dreadful small child who kept bawling, so I didn't sleep too well. I am not a kid person :< I'm already sensitive to sound for some reason.

Sleeping made the flight go by faster, though. Did I mention I didn't want to leave?

Well, that's my AC 08 report. Thanks for listenin', ya'll. <3

In the end, here's my total l00t:
- Two CDs
- A printed copy of Project Future
- The Keatsicle, drawn by Amber
- A drawing of Keaton, drawn by OMGKTB, or Tikiman
- Another drawing of Keaton, drawn by Kenji
- Three Kinder Egg toys (yes I saved them all)
- Black leathery head-wings

After giving the idea a great deal of thought and talking about it with my parents, I decided to open up commissions. I think it’ll be excellent practice with drawing for a living, really, and learning to get things drawn on-time. However, to keep myself from being overwhelmed, I’m only going to take a few commission requests at a time: four, to be exact. When the list below is filled with names, I will not be accepting any new commission requests until the list is completely blank.

Note that if you don’t want the picture to be posted on the public forums or DeviantArt, I won’t show it. But if I do post it, I’ll put up a watermarked version so that way it makes plagiarism harder.

Waiting List:
1: :iconcogidubnus:
2: :icontapewolf:
3: Mwa (1 out of 2 images finished)
4: Shadesfox (finished)

ALL THE SLOTS ARE FILLED.

What I Will Draw:
I will draw just about anything. Humans, furries, gift art, backgrounds… the only thing I will not draw are adult content such as explicitly sexual material. Sorry guys. I’m doing this with my parents’ permission and I’m still underaged. I’m perfectly alright with tasteful nudity, on the other hand, but this might change if people abuse that option.

Adding extra content such as multiple characters or a background will increase the price minimally (see Pricing Information).

Pricing Information:
I’m trying to keep this fair. Here are some prices, but honestly, this is interchangeable depending on how detailed you want the picture to be and other tidbits.

Chibi (Colored or Black and White): $5.00 USD
Black and White (Sketch, Not Inked): $10.00 USD (SAMPLE: Click here)
Black and White (Inked): $14.00 USD (SAMPLE: Click here, although keep in mind that I’ll give the eyes a bit more detail)
Colored (Black Lines, No Background): $18.00 USD (SAMPLE: Click here)
Colored (Colored Lines, No Background): $20.00 USD (SAMPLE: Click here)

Add $5.00 USD extra for each additional character. Add $10.00 USD for a detailed background, such as this picture. A simple background shown in this picture here is $5.00 USD.

However, as I mentioned, the price is dependent on extra details. There are certain nuances to the picture you want which might require specification, such as the pose you want. Make sure to spare no reference or description so I don’t make any mistakes or exclude something important. Ask me any questions you’d like during communication (see Contact Information).

Originals are not available at this moment in time since I’m still learning how to do that. I can send a high-resolution version without the watermark if you please, though.

I decided to keep track of my 100 Themes project by putting up a list on the front page of my journal. For those who are interested, you can also see how close I am to finishing the latest of the themes by examining my "currently working on" list.

I'll put up links to completed themes next to their respective names. Hence, this journal will be updated periodically. Mind you, there is no set schedule regarding when and how I finish a theme... this is just for fun. But I'm planning on finishing this whole list.

Hey, the FAQ is useful after all. :) I used it to try out some of the fancy journal features.

Anyway, I'm really happy with how this picture is turning out so I'm dropping off a preview in this journal. I might do this a bit more often without any set schedule. The picture above is at a much more advanced stage now, but I saved it in its inked-only stage (with the exclusion of the eyes) for flaunting. XD

Awesum.
