From an old submission of my Banette character Alice. suggested I start implementing colored lines, so I decided to redo this picture as an experiment.
I... really think I'm going to be using this method more often, although it's so extremely cartoony that I'll reserve the style for chibis and other simplistic pictures. Plus, colored outlines takes an extra bit of effort on my part, but learning the process was made a lot more easy by using 's tutorial on utilizing the pen tool in Photoshop. :3
I'm just VERY happy with this picture. I prefer this version over the old one.
Now that is highly effective! I think the shading on the Pikadoll's head is off, especially when the same side of Alice's head has a highlight, but the overall work is quality and the look has a good punch to it. >D
I hadn't expected you to go for cel-shading with this, too. I always thought you were highly-successful with the style, though. I think, however, that you should also try this style with more serious pictures, using your standard shading style. Have a look at some of my older, more shadows-intensive look for an example, although I think you can do better than me.
Good work with this style! I really hope to see more of it in the future! ^____^

Her eyes, through which crystal tears gave light
shone like the moon on water, seen by night
